Armodafinil is a prescription medicine that helps people with certain sleep disorders, including narcolepsy, obstructive sleep apnea, and shift work sleep disorders, stay awake. It has warnings and risks that should be considered before use, just like any drug. The most significant ones are listed here. If you have allergies to any of the substances in armodafinil, avoid taking it. If you have heart disease, high blood pressure, liver or renal illness, or a history of drug or alcohol misuse, let your doctor know. Armodafinil may interact with other drugs, such as antidepressants, blood thinners, and hormonal contraceptives. Prior to beginning armodafinil, be sure to tell your doctor about all of the medications, vitamins, and herbal treatments you are currently taking.
